現在來說說這種格式的優勢何在: 

收信人一目了然。假設是我收到這樣的開發信,我的第一感覺是,這封信是專門給我的,儘管上面沒有寫到我的名字 JACK,但是他指明說要給 purchasing manager, (當然這時我是採購經理的條件下)。其實大部分情況下,我就寫 TO : Mr PURACHASING MANAGER,因為通常情況下,儘管你知道這個公司是你潛在的客戶公司,但是你竭盡全力搜取相關人員的名字,聯繫方式都沒法實現。這時,你只能模糊的寫,當然這是肯定比你只寫 dear sir or madam 還了不知到少倍,起碼潛在客戶知道你為了得到這些信息已經花費了一定的時間。而通常情況下,你只寫 Dear sir ,沒有特別說明某一職位的話,要是我的話,我會覺得你在群發。至少我是這麼認為。 

有時候,你只能找到 INFO@XXX.com 等的郵件,各位,請發無妨。所發的郵件不能發送到預期要到達的人,但是一般你寫著 MR PURCHASING MANAGER, GENERAL MANAGER, CONTRACTING ENGINEER 之類的在該公司擔任要職的,收到信件的小生也會乖乖的幫你轉發給這些人,因為他們也怕這封郵件很重要,要是不發送,以後追究責任那也比較麻煩,當然了,不是每個人都會轉發的。不要在這裡死扣本人所說的話。為了證明以上的說法,小弟現在列一下去年 12 月份的開發信讓各位瞅瞅,當然是只能看個大概了,商業機密的問題,抱歉!
